Välkommen att kliva in i en suggestiv värld av melankolisk bildkonst skapad av The Fleurs.
Konstnären bakom alter egot har rötter i Schweiz, en tysk mor och en fransktalande far, och drogs tidigt ut i världen. Efter studier inom scenkonst i Berlin och en tid i London landade resan i Stockholm – och det var här The Fleurs föddes.
Med fotografiet som bärande medium töjs gränserna genom digitalt och analogt måleri direkt på utskrifterna. Resultatet blir fängslande fotomontage i collageteknik, där flera exponeringar, lager, fragment och text smälter samman. Med stark inspiration från det sena 1800-talets piktorialism flörtar verken med det måleriska och melankoliska, där samspelet mellan skugga och ljus bygger upp surrealistiska kompositioner.
I sitt konstnärskap utforskar The Fleurs ständigt gränslandet mellan fantasi och verklighet, dröm och mardröm. Genom sina verk ställer konstnären frågor som berör det mänskliga jaget: Vad händer när gränsen mellan ljus och mörker suddas ut? Var börjar och slutar en dröm, och vad gör det ögonblicket med oss som individer?
